Repetitive Topics in an Election Year

There are many things which some of us get tired of hearing in an election year.

One thing we continually hear is that we have been fighting an unjust war because no weapons of mass destruction have been found.

Weapons inspectors believe that despite the lack of evidence, Iraq posed an imminent threat. Several years ago, even Clinton and Gore acknowledged that they knew Hussein had stored biological and chemical weapons.

In fact, he used them in torturing millions of his own people and made it clear that they were available to terrorists to be used against us.

The problem is that the Democratic leadership did not bother to do much in dealing with terrorism.

Although it has been costly in terms of American lives and financing, we can be sure that George W. will stay on top of this huge problem until the fascism which brought about the 9-11 attack, is overcome.

Another thing one continually hears is that everything was good during the Clinton years and everything has been lousy in the Bush years.

As Economists tell us, the Economy has always run in cycles and politics has little to do with it, although politicians can stimulate the economy.

Back in 1992, when Clinton took control, the economy was already in an upswing. Everyone had a job and was spending.

Businesses and governments were doing well financially and it was a good time in most people's lives.

Because of these factors, our government was able to have a surplus, rather than the huge deficit we now have.

Economists generally agree that Clinton handed Bush the beginning of the most serious recession since the great depression of the 1930's.

It has taken three years to come out of it, and because of the war and recession, plus necessary government spending and tax rebates to simulate the economy, we face big deficits.

Economic indicators, such as the stock market, which is usually several months ahead of the economy, have been strong.

Unfortunately, employment is the most lagging indicator, after a recession, and therefore, many communities have not yet felt the economic recovery.

We have lost millions of jobs because we live in a global economy and trade agreements are essential.

Subsequently, big business have moved overseas and advanced technology has replaced a lot of manufacturing jobs, so new job sectors must be provided.

The most controversial topic in an election year is who has the right to choose life or death. Liberals say every woman has the right to have an abortion.

Many of us believe that if our Creator does not wish for life to continue throughout the 9 month gestation, they will be "naturally" aborted (miscarriages).

When you consider everything about the child is determined when the sperm fertilizes the egg (zygote) nine months before birth, it is inconceivable that God wants his great miracle of human life destroyed at any stage, whether it is a zygote, embryo, fetus or child.
