Lions Continued Fundraising With Spaghetti Supper

The La Harpe Lions Club held their annual spaghetti supper at the clubhouse Saturday, February 7th.

Despite many other events going on in the area, several attended.

The Lions furnished all the food for the supper with their wives furnishing the desserts.

The Lions Club received their charter in 1971, and have been meeting the areas needs ever since.

They have several fund raisers each year, including 2 weekends a year serving breakfast, Candy Day (which is a state-wide event).

Their Summerfest supper is their biggest fund raiser and they also sell advance carnival ride tickets in which they get some proceeds, plus they get a cut from the total carnival ticket sales.

Some of the activities the money is used for are furnishing glasses and eye exams for all ages.

Every other year, the La Harpe Lions Club holds Hearing and Glaucoma screenings.

They also sponsor three blood drives a year for the American Red Cross.

Larry Finch is currently President of the La Harpe Lions Club with around 40 members.
