Meet Your Neighbor Ruby Bavery, born on a farm near Basco. She went to school in Basco for 11 years and graduated from Warsaw High School. She came from a family of five children.
She then graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Macomb and completed 6 months of post-graduate work in Cook County.
Ruby returned to Macomb and worked at St. Francis Hospital for 5 years and then worked for Dr. Dively from 1957 to 1991. She worked at the Elms Nursing Home from 91-94.
Ruby moved to La Harpe in 1981, where she lives with her sister Mildred. She and Mildred have traveled in all 50 states. In addition to traveling, she enjoys quilting, reading and going to Quiz Bowls.
Ruby is a familiar face around school as she has been at the scorekeepers bench, keeping books for all sports for many years. She has always loved being around children. She also loves spending time with her family.
