The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has announced the names of this year's students honored as Illinois State Scholars.

The Illinois State Scholar Program recognizes Illinois high school students for outstanding academic achievement.

The Commission is pleased to announce that two students from La Harpe High School have been named as Illinois State Scholars.

Students ranking in the top ten percent of the state's 135,600 high school graduating seniors have been named Illinois State Scholars.

Rankings are based on a combination of ACT test scores and class rank at the end of the sixth semester in high school.

While the program does not provide a monetary award, the designation as an Illinois State Scholar can be listed on applications for college admission and scholarships.

High School seniors who have earned this distinction are: Crystal Ryder, daughter of Ken and Linda Hunerdosse and Abby Burr, daughter of Susan Burr and Sam Burr
