Meet Your Teacher Nancy Gibb who teaches four periods of Physical Education at Southern plus coaches the 8th grade girls basketball team.
Nancy moved from Florida this past summer to be closer to her mother, Helen Gibb of La Harpe and sister, Connie Wisslead. She taught for 22 years in Florida, both high school and elementary physical education.
She was born and raised in La Harpe. She graduated from La Harpe high school in 1976 and graduated from Western Illinois University in 1981 with a bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation with an emphasis in coaching.
She had a great time with the eighth grade girls basketball team.
"I've never worked with a better bunch of girls." Coach Gibb said.
She and the Southern Raider eighth grade girl's basketball team finished the season with just one game short of a perfect record, ending in 3rd place in the state!
She enjoys spending time with her mom, car shows, golf and working with kids.
