The Rebels have started the season out perfectly.
On Tuesday, November 30, the Rebels played a great game against the Union Yankees. The game was played on Union's home court with the Rebels coming out on top. It was a close game to start out with, but slowly the gap of points became wider.
The Rebels controlled the boards by out rebounding their opponent on both offensive and defensive.
The Rebels were also always going for the ball when it was loose. They had at least 5 loose ball recoveries.
The Rebels next challenge was against Hamilton on the following Friday, December 3. This game marked the beginning of the final season of games in the Southern High School gym.
The Rebels won, 48-37, but it was not an easy task to accomplish.
The game was very close, but the defense of the Rebels won the game for them. This outstanding defense led to a good night of rebounding. The Rebels had 17 defensive rebounds to the 9 that Hamilton had.
This win gave the Rebels a perfect 2-0 record to end their first week of play.
The Rebels junior varsity team has also started the season with a 2-0 record.
