Meet Your Neighbor, Roger Comstock, born in La Harpe and has lived here all of his life. Roger's parents were the late Ross and Myrtle Comstock. He had one brother, Rodney who died in 1975. Roger spent his elementary school years in country schools, but came to La Harpe for high school where he graduated in 1948. In 1953 and 1954 he served in the Army in Korea. Farming has always been his main occupation and he now lives on the family farm, which has been in his family for over 100 years. But in 1984, following his father's footsteps (who had had his own trucking business since 1928) Roger bought his own truck and has been in the trucking business himself. Roger and Martha (Fowler) were married in September of 1956 at Old Bedford Church in rural La Harpe. They are the parents of two sons, Dale who lives in Carthage and Larry who lives in rural La Harpe. They also have two grandsons. |
