Meet Your Neighbor Edna Collins, born in La Harpe. She attended school in La Harpe until the 5th grade and then went on to graduate from Nauvoo Colusa in 1965.
After high school graduation, Edna worked at Shelor Globe in Keokuk, Iowa for 5 years.
She married Clyde Collins in 1970 and they moved to the Quad Cities where they lived for 20 years. Edna worked at the Fresh Pak Candy Company for 15 years.
When Edna and Clyde moved back to La Harpe she went to work for her brother at his restaurant, Georgie's Place, for 12 years. She drove the van for the La Harpe Senior Citizens Center for 2 years.
For the last three years, Edna has been cook at the school cafeteria in La Harpe.
She and her husband have one son, Lance and 2 grandchildren, Josh and James.
Edna enjoys having coffee with her friends, going out to eat, working with kids, and enjoys every day life.
