Meet Your Neighbor Pat Deitrich, born in Macomb, and raised on a farm south of Fountain Green.
Pat attended Pennsylvania Country School her first year and then attended Fountain Green Grade School 2nd grade through eighth grade. She graduated from La Harpe High school, and then attended Western Illinois University one year.
She married her high school sweetheart, Duane Deitrich, in 1961 and the couple continued making their home here raising four children. Their children are married giving them eight grandchildren.
They are Cindy (Tracey) Anders, grandchildren Amber, 23, Jaden, 17, and Trayton, 11 months;
Greg (Jennifer) Deitrich, grandchildren, Bryce, 12, A.J., 5;
Kevin (Kim) Deitrich, grandchildren, Jacob, 4, Will, 2;
Jamie (Leandra) Deitrich, grandchild, Shelby, 3 months.
Pat has been a La Harpe School District #335 Unit Secretary for a total of 20 years. She also has worked two years at Housewright Lumber Company.
She enjoys spending time with her family, and grandchildren, gardening and yard work. She teaches an adult Sunday School Class. She really likes working at the school and being around people.
