The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.

Moment in History

In the village of Warren in 1857 Mr. J.W. Hopper, brother of Lambert Hopper (the town founder) ran a merchandise store.

Selling nails, boots, calico, rope, anvils, and much more, Mr. Hopper had a booming business.

His two store registers are now located in the Local and Family History Room at the Henderson County Public Library in Biggsville.

Check to see if your ancestor traded eggs and cream for molasses and shovels.
