Community Easter Egg Hunt a Success

The first Annual Community Wide Easter Egg Hunt took place Saturday, April 3rd in the Stronghurst Village Park.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., there were over 100 eager children, baskets in hand, waiting for the fire whistle to blow (the signal to start the hunt). The children, ranging from infants through 4th graders, were ready to go. There were in excess of 200 people at the event.

In addition to the colorful eggs that were hidden, there were "Special" eggs which contained a variety of coins including gold dollars, quarters, the new nickel featuring Lewis & Clark and candy.

For each age category, one lucky person had a special message inside an egg telling them they were a winner of one of the "large" stuffed bunnies.

Each child present also received a miniature stuffed bunny. Winners of the large bunnies were:

0-3 year old......Breanna Moulton
PreK-Kindergart....Emma Joseph
1st-2nd Grade.....Monica Brooks
3rd-4th Grade.Alexis Ensminger

Appreciation goes to all the children and their helpers for making the first Easter egg hunt a big success and everyone is looking forward to the event next year.

Tony Anderson and Scott Ford did an excellent job cleaning the village park for the event.
