Nauvoo: The Lady Cyclones made it 4 wins in a row, with a 11-9 win over Nauvoo Monday night. The Cyclones scored in the 1st inning when Sasha Pratt and Brooke Lewis walked and both scored on a fielder's choice. Nauvoo scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning to tie the game.
The Cyclones took the lead back on Danielle VanFleet's homer. Nauvoo tied it again in the top of the 5th inning with a run. The Cyclones scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, on 5 walks and a RBI single by Jessie Rodeffer. The Cyclones scored 2 more in the 6th inning on 4 more walks. The Cyclones held on to the lead when Nauvoo came back to score 6 runs in the 7th inning. Cyclone's Erin Pollock got the win with 8 K's.
Camp Point: April 1st, the Cyclones Varsity make it 3 wins in a row, with a 1 hit shut-out by Erin Pollock. The Cyclones scored in the 2nd inning when Felicia Roberts had a RBI single to bring in Megan Harper. The 3rd inning when Erin Pollock doubled, bringing in Jessie Rodeffer who singled. Elizabeth Humes had a RBI single to drive in Erin Pollock to take a 3-0 lead. In the 6th inning Mary Heady had a RBI single and later scored on a wild pitch to cap off a Cyclone 5-0 shut-out.
The Cyclone JV continued their undefeated season with a 5-4 win. Tiffany Swank hit a 2 run homer in the 1st. inning scoring Brooke Lewis. The Cyclones scored 2 more runs in the 3rd inning when Lindy Shoemaker and Brooke Lewis scored on fielders choices. The score was tied 4 to 4 in the 5th inning when Brooke Lewis hit a game winning RBI single that scored Lindy Shoemaker. Lisa Irish pitched a 2 hitter with 5 K's.
Cyclone lead-off hitter Sasha Pratt, Pizza Plus Player of the Week will receive a personal pan pizza courtesy of Pizza Plus of La Harpe.
Hamilton: The Cyclones earned their 2nd straight win on a cold Tuesday evening, March 30th.
Lead-off hitter Sasha Pratt started the scoring by taking a walk in the1st inning then scoring on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Cyclones scored 5 runs.
Sasha Pratt started the inning with a single followed by a RBI single by Jessie Rodeffer. Brooke Lewis walked then Erin Pollock had a 2 RBI single.
In the 4th, Cyclone lead-off batter Sasha Pratt once again started the inning off with a single and Erin Pollock had another RBI single.
Erin Pollock pitched a no hitter going through 4 1/3 innings, then Hamilton got 1 of only 4 hits. Erin finished with 7 K's.
Rushville: Monday, March 29th, the Cyclones hosted the Rushville Rockets for their 2004 home opener. The Rockets started the scoring in the 3rd inning with 2 runs. The Cyclones came back in the 4th when Sasha Pratt hit a double, took 3rd on a delay steal, then Erin Pollock was hit by a pitch.
Megan Harper stepped up to the plate and hit a 2 RBI double.
The game was tied until the top of the 6th inning when the Rockets scored 1 run.
In the bottom of the 6th Sasha Pratt started a rally with a triple. Jessie Rodeffer reached base on a walk then it was Megan Harper again for the game winning double.
Erin Pollock pitched a great game, only giving up 1 hit with 11 K's.
The JV team remains UNDEFEATED with a 5 to 5 tie again. The Cyclones scored 3 runs in the 1st inning.
Tiffany Swank and Jenna Anderson started with singles, then Brooke Lewis hit a long triple to left, followed by a RBI single by Lindy Shoemaker. The Cyclones scored again in the 3rd inning when Brooke Lewis walked and it was Lindy Shoemaker's turn for a RBI triple
QuincyND: The Cyclone Softball Team opened the 2004 season on the road at Quincy Notre Dame High School. It was a pitcher's dual from the start, both pitchers looking strong on the mound.
Cyclones' Amy Mckee had 3 K's in 4 shutout innings, pitching out of a jam with runners in scoring position.
The Cyclones came up a little short when QND scored 2 unearned runs in the sixth inning. It was a great opening game against a strong QND club, who's pitcher only allowed two singles by Sasha Pratt and Brooke Lewis.
The Cyclone JV squad played the second game of the doubleheader starting with 2 runs in the first inning.
Team captains' Brooke Lewis and Ashlin Pollock lead the way with RBI hits scoring Tiffany Swank and Brooke Lewis.
The JV Cyclones had a strong pitching performance from Lisa Irish going 7 innings and only giving up 2 hits. Quincy ND scored5 runs in the first on walks and errors.
The Cyclones came back to tie the game in the 2nd on Lindy Shoemaker's 2 RBI triples Scoring was Tiffany Swank who reached on a single and Hannah Gentes who walked. It followed with Brooke Lewis's single and RBI scoring Lindy Shoemaker. The game ended in a 6 to 6 tie, Ashlin Pollock lead the JV Cyclones with a 3 hit performance in 4 at bats.
