The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
After losing his mill to the flood of 1844, John Biggs built a strong, substantial one on what is now lot11, Block 1 in Rigsby's Addition to Biggsville.
To obtain water-power for this mill it was necessary to drift or tunnel through the bank and under Main Street and build a dam across the creek above the old one. To do this he hired Elton Catlin.
Opened for business again, Mr. Biggs continued to operate the mill until the time of his death when ownership passed into the hands of Mr. Robert Moir.
Thereafter, a number of men owned it-Smith, George Rigsby, Samuel McDonald, Eli Beaver and Fort & Kemp and later Fort alone.
