The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
By the 1840's settlement had increased in Biggsville Township. In 1843 Mr. E. Marston arrived from "York State" and built his home in Section 29.
He was known among his neighbors as a" very peculiar man" (today, we have no idea the" meaning" of this phrase). Here he engaged in a mixed business of farming, stock raising, tavern keeping and store keeping.
The second school house in the township was built on his property. After Mr. Marston's death the family moved to Kansas and farm passed into the hands of Paul D. Gibb.
