Village Hosts Park Appreciation Dinner

On Saturday, October 11, approximately 75 volunteers and donors for the park renovation were treated to a pork chop dinner at the park shelter house.

All those who had volunteered time or donated money or services to the project were invited.

In addition to the pork chops, there were baked potatoes, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, dessert and drinks.

Tony and Kay Griepentrog were presented with a $50 gift certificate to Martini's in Burlington, Iowa in recognition for the hundreds of hours Tony has spent doing physical labor as well as the paper work involved in such a project.

Kay was honored for "giving" Tony time off from household chores.

The village appreciates the Broadway Cafe, Vancil's Locker, the Bank of Stronghurst, FS, Jack and Jill's Grocery, and Country Companies for donating to the event.

Stronghurst Mayor Eric Chockley presents Tony and Kay Griepentrog with a gift certificate in appreciation for all their time and their commitment to enhancing the village park.
