Village Honors Clerk

Eileen Cargill, who recently retired from the position of Stronghurst Village Clerk, was honored on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 for her 22 years of service to the Village. Tony Griepentrog, councilman in charge of employees, presented her with a plaque in appreciation of her dedication. Eileen took over when Georgia Stamp retired in 1982. She served under three Mayors - Dick Stone, Ross Mesecher, and Eric Chockley.

Eileen and the late Fred Cargill have five married sons, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Eileen's hobbies have included quilting, and she is a baseball fan of the Atlanta Braves and has a whole wall full of memorabilia. This week she is rooting for the Cubs.

Eileen said, "I really enjoyed working for the Village because it got me out and I knew what was going on in town. I will miss it."
