Dallas City Discusses $9,000 Grant

A $9,000 75%-25% grant for wetland was discussed at the September 10th Dallas City Council meeting last month. The grant is for wetland next to the sewer treatment plant. Mayor Lila Gittings called the meeting to order with two Commissioners present: Phillip Bowman and Esther Newberry. Northup was absent.

Chris Classen discussed problem at lift station. Max Faul was called in and it appears the problem has been repaired.

Motion was made by Newberry and seconded by Bowman to purchase tape recorder. Bowman, Newberry, Gittings - AYE; Northup - ABSENT.

Harold Northup arrived at 7:20 p.m.

Motion was made by Newberry and seconded by Northup to authorize City Clerk to sign papers on Grant for wetlands. Bowman, Newberry, Northup, Gittings - AYE.

Commissioner Northup will check on cell phones for city employees.

Others present were Chris Classen and Rod Clark.

Minutes of the August 27, 2003 meeting were approved.

A motion was made by Northup and seconded by Bowman to pay bills except U.S. Cellular bill until calls are checked on. Bowman, Newberry, Northup and Gittings - AYE. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.

burning Ordinance

The Dallas City Council met again on September 24th at 7 p.m. with Mayor Lila Gittings in charge of the meeting. Commissioners Phillip Bowman, and Esther Newberry were present along with guests- John Stimpson, Kerry Stevens, Ruth Higgins, and Stacy Dochterman.

The September 10th minutes were accepted by Bowman, Newberry, and Gittings. Northup was absent.

John Stimpson representing Dallas City Ducks Unlimited discussed the wetland project. State Ducks Unlimited may have funds to help on this project.

Harold Northup arrived at 7:05.

Members discussed cell phones but no information was obtained yet. Will discuss at the next meeting.

Discussed Open Burning Ordinance. No garbage or foreign material is to be burned.

Meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
