The Southern Belles opened their basketball season November 18 against the scrappy Lady Wildcats in Warsaw. The Belles won by the score of 59 to 53. It was a close game all the way with the lead changing sides several times.
The Belles were led in scoring by Annie Pogue with 21 points and Darci Renken with 19 points. Renken also had 8 rebounds. Mindy Morrison contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds. Kim Waddell had 8 assists and 5 points.
Forty of the 53 points made by Warsaw were contributed by the Brownlee twins with Ashley contributing 26 points and Brittany contributing 14 points.

The Southern Junior Varsity Belles lost their season opener against the Lady Wildcats of Warsaw by a close score of 33 to 30. Shayna Heap led the scoring effort with 10 pints and Kayla Coffey added 7 points.

The Southern Belles defeated the Lady Suns of Southeastern on November 19 in their first home game of the season.
The Varsity Belles won by the score of 51 to 32. The Belles were led in scoring by Annie Pogue with 12 points and Mindy Morrison with 12 points. Mindy also contributed 8 rebounds. Darci Renken contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 steals.

The Southern Junior Varsity Belles won their home opener against the Lady Suns of Southeastern by the score of 43 to 12. Kayla Coffey led the scoring with 13 points.
Mara Lefler and Kylee Hendrickson each contributed 6 points.

The Southern Belles played their first game in the Monmouth Tip-Off Classic at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning against the Lady Vikings of Nauvoo. The Belles put up a good fight but could not quite overcome the powerful Lady Vikings.
The Belles lost by a final score of 48 to 41. Darci Renken led all scorers with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Mindy Morrison contributed 13 points and 9 rebounds.
Jacki Ferrell led the Lady Viking with 19 points and Jessi Harris contributed 13 points.

The Belles then played the Monmouth Zippers later in the day and had a much better game defeating the Zippers by the score of 56 to 37. Darci Renken again led all scorers with 22 points and also contributed 19 rebounds. Annie Pogue hd 17 points and Mindy Morrison contributed 10 rebounds, 6 points and 7 assists. Monmouth was led in scoring by Kaley Noel with 11 points.
