Friday night the lights shone brightly in Stronghurst, as the businesses, decked in their Christmas decor, held an open house for the public.
The Prairieland Barber Shop Chorus from Macomb were enjoyed at each business as they put people in the holiday mood with their lively Christmas melodies.
You could enjoy a tasty snack at Bob's TV & Home Furnishing while you browsed among the furniture, looking for that exact piece you would like to have.
At The Antiquity the children were welcome to have their picture taken with Santa Claus (Kory Nichols).
Bygones and Buds was decked with wreaths, Christmas arrangements and much more.
At both The Antiquity and Bygones & Buds, Jan Cargill of Jan's Country Catering, could be seen dashing around refilling plates of cookies and other goodies.
In the Farm Credit building you could look through the window and see all the goodies the ladies of the Raritan Baptist Church had for sale.
If you were looking for a Redlin painting for that special someone on your list, it could be purchased at Rural Horizons Gallery.
On the other side of the street The American Legion Auxiliary had a display of 59 Nativity scenes. The nativities were loaned by Legion and Auxiliary members with no two alike.
While many were enjoying the food, displays and visiting some folks were working. Vancil Locker service was busy checking in deer. Many hunters set patiently in their vehicles which were lined up for a couple of blocks waiting their turn.
