Hilton's St. Louis Cardinal Tree is almost ready for this weekend's FESTIVAL OF TREES being held at the La Harpe United Methodist Church Saturday and Sunday. Don't worry Cub fans. There is an excellent "Chicago Cub" Tree that will really get your goat. Come see!
The Annual Golden Rule Club Christmas Parade will take place on Main Street in La Harpe Saturday, November 29, at 3:00 p.m. Santa Claus will be one of the many attractions, and will be handing out treats for the children in the city park immediately following the parade.
Anyone wishing to be in the parade or have an entry in the parade, may do so by contacting Diana Mealey at 217/659-3559.
There will also be carolers on Main Street from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Starting earlier in the day, several businesses will be hosting their Holiday Open House with refreshments and special bargains at participating stores.
Along with the businesses, the La Harpe Methodist Church will be having their annual Festival of Trees and Sweet Shop from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and Noon - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The La Harpe Family Rural Health Clinic will also have the new CPR manikins on display and offer free blood sugar and blood pressure checks from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at their office at 101 North B Street.
