Bonnie Johnson of rural route Lomax was born in Burlington, IA, May 29, 1944, and has lived in this area all of her life. She attended Stronghurst High School, where she graduated from in 1962. She was a secretary at WIU for 13 years until retiring in 2001. In 2001, she also received a bachelor of arts degree from WIU. She has two daughters, Angela Alberts, who lives with her husband, David, of Carman, and Amy Schmitz, who lives with husband Mike Schmitz of Elmwood. She has one grandson Justin Albert, 6, a first grader at Southern. Bonnie also worked at the Henderson County Extension Office for 11 years and has done subsitute teaching in the area. She currently works at the Henderson County Quill in Stronghurst typesetting, paginating pages, and helping with office work. She is a member of the Carman United Methodist Church. Her hobbies include needlework, gardening, and cooking. |
