Margaret Gerhard Jones is a World War II war bride. She was born in the city of Frankfurt, Germany where she received her education and nurses training. Margaret met her late husband, Thomas W. while working in a U.S. Army Hospital near Frankfurt.

She came to the United States in 1949, and became an American citizen in 1952.

After Tom was discharged from the military in 1953, they moved to La Harpe where most of Tom's family lives.

Margaret has worked for over forty years in an American Army, a German Army, and civilian hospitals. For eight years she worked at Mary Davier Hospital in La Harpe, and retired from Carthage Memorial Hospital after 26 years.

Through the years Margaret has made many trips back home to Germany to visit her family. She has told several interesting stories of her life in Germany and in the U.S.

Margaret is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She likes working with her flowers, decorating her lovely home, and driving her car to go shopping.

Margaret has had quite an eventful and interesting life and she has almost gotten used to small town living.

Margaret is a lovely, charming lady who is very proud of her daughters, Marion and Karen, and her four grandchildren.
