The roar of lions could be heard as the Pre-K students and their families began their safari in the jungles of La Harpe on Wednesday, April 30.
As the hunters made their way to the Jungle Feast they spotted many animals in the wild, including elephants, rhinos, and giraffes.
The feast featured tables laden with fried "wild game," ham and cheese kabobs, "roast beast" sandwiches, fresh fruit and vegetables, jungle jigglers, jungle snack mix, and safari cakes.
Following the feast the Pre-K hunters donned their pith helmets and grabbed their cameras and viewing scopes to begin their safari in earnest.
Safari activities included Five Monkeys Swinging in a Tree, Hippos in the Mud, Lion-Lion-Zebra, Elephant Peanut Relay, and a Lion Roaring Contest.
After following the footprints of several animals and searching through the trees in the forest, each hunter was able to capture an animal and the safari came to an end.
Pre-K students room left- Landon McKeown, Tray Stokke, Kevin Oliver, Caroline Sirtak and Corbin Link. Back left: Truman Kost, MacKenzie Anderson, Donnie Wetterling, Cierstynn Welcher and Dannie Wetterling.
