Joan Shipman writes the local news for The Quill from the Webster and Fountain Green area. She has done this for four years and enjoys gathering the news.
Joan attended schools in La Harpe, Fountain Green, and graduated from Carthage High School.
She has been married to J.D. for seventeen years, and are parents of Rodney and Katrina. They are blessed with five grandchildren. Joan also has three brothers and three sisters.
She keeps busy with her job at La Harpe Elementary School as a teacher's aide and she's a bailiff at the Court House in Carthage when there's a jury trial.
Her hobbies are sewing and working with flowers. Joan and J.D. are active in their church at the Webster Community Church. J.D. has been involved in team roping for twenty years and Joan enjoys watching this event take place every Sunday afternoon.
