La Harpe High Enjoys FFA Chapter Banquet

The La Harpe FFA Chapter held its annual awards and appeciation banquet on March 18. About 150 people were in attendence.

The chapter took the opportunity to thank all those who helped with chapter activities throughout the year. The individuals and businesses who contributed money to the Illinois FFA Foundation were also recognized. Delbert Kreps and David Hobby were awarded honorary chapter degrees.

Many members received special awards for their achievements. The Star Discovery Award was given to Lacy Pence and J.D. Hobby was named Star Greenhand. Kayla Reische, Anna Ziegler, Matt Swanson, and Justin Mohr received plaques for winning their proficiency award area at the section level. Isacc Rogers was recognized for winning his proficiency area in the Section and District competitions. Kelli Burr was awarded the chapter scholarship pin and Kayla Reische was given the chapter leadership pin. April Horton was honored with the DeKalb Agriculture Award.

The La Harpe FFA Chapter appreciate all its local supporters and everyone who made the banquet a success. Meagan Wells, 2002-2003 State FFA Treasurer, who attended the banquet as keynote speaker made the event very special.
