Alan Driskell was raised in the La Harpe area where he now lives, graduating from Northwestern High School and Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, Missouri.

His first job was at Southern Jr. High in Media where he taught business, was an assistant coach and year book sponsor, along with many other duties.

Alan's first Principal's job was in Elwood, Iowa, then in Gladstone and Terre Haute for several years and his last job was back at Media as Jr. High Principal.

As principal he believed in strict discipline and letting kids know what he expected of them. There were rules to follow and punishment when needed, but the kids respected that.

Alan always set a good example for young people while in the school system. He called them into his office to give them a pat on the back as well as to discuss a problem.

In 1984, Alan joined the staff at First State Bank of Western Illinois in La Harpe as Loan Officer.

Alan and Kathy have been married for 37 years and are parents of two daughters and one son. They have been blessed with two grandchildren.

Alan likes to golf and hunt. They both like to travel, dine out, and go to flea markets.
