The 7th grade team traveled to Media on March 6th to pick up their first win of the 7A Regional tournament. The Lady Eagles were seeded #1 in the tourney and did not have to compete in the first round of action. Second round action would find La Harpe playing Yorkwood. Morgan Mohr led the way for a victory with 10 service points, 1 kill and 1 tip. Next in line would be Lindsey Pollock racking up 8 straight points, while Haeli Johnson added 7 to the board. Sarah Link served up 3 for the Eagles and pounded 2 kills into Bear territory. Ashley Sparrow stepped up to the serving line and aced two serves to win the game with scores of 15-5, 15-1.
The Eagles would face their next opponent, the Southern Raiders for the championship. The team had their work cut out for them playing Southern on their own home court, however the Eagle team had enough determination to bring home the trophy! The game began with a battle, but the Eagle team outlasted the Raiders with consistent serving, good passing and tipping. Ashley Sparrow's great serving helped gain the victory over the Raiders with scores of 15-6, 15-4. Sparrow put 8 points on the board, while digging up a Raider hit. Haeli Johnson's consistent serving (6 points) helped gain the victory. Morgan Mohr, Jennifer Siegworth, and Sarah Link chipped in with 5 points each while Lindsey Pollock added one. From the attack line, Morgan Mohr's left handed hit couldn't be stopped by the Raiders before she smashed 3 kills at the defense. Lindsey Pollock, Sarah Link and Haeli Johnson helped to secure the lead with one kill each. Setters Lindsey Pollock and Jennifer Siegworth assisted the hitters with 5 and 2 assists.
