KRISTA WILLDRICK, new Director at La Harpe Davier Kid Care extended a great big welcome to her new and improved children's daycare facility. Krista Willdrick, with 16 yrs. exprience in childcare, doubles as the Director and toddler-room teacher. She and husband Dean live in Webster. They have four children and one granddaughter.
Sharon Spangler is the Assistant Director and the Infant-room Teacher. Heather Soule is the Pre-school Teacher and has been working with children for a year and a half. Julie Coleman is the school age teacher and has been working with the children for two years.
All staff members are required to be Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) qualified to ensure a safe and learning environment.
Willdrick expained that Kid Care offers many fun and exciting activities along with nutritious snacks and meals. "Our preschool age group has been established to prepare young children for kindergarten," she explained. "We are currently involved in the Inter-generational program with the Nursing Home residents, take a library trip once a week, and participate in a exercise program two days a week.
"Many field trips have been planned this spring and summer to involve the children in challenging and developmental activities. Our school age group joins up after school each day and on nonscheduled school days. We are currently planning field trips for the spring and summer."
Willdrick said that one of their long-term projects at this time is writing to an Air Force Pen Pal.
Willdrick said they feel good about their infant room as well. "It is a safe environment for the infants to freely explore. Our bright and cheerful toddler room offers many hands-on activities. Toddlers enjoy music time, storybook time, and craft time."
Kid Care's hours are 6:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and currently have openings in the preschool and toddler room.
Willdrick said the licensed daycare through DCFS is open for visitors. "Please feel free to stop by and visit us at Kid Care," she said.
