The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Approves 3% Employee Raise At June Meeting
The La Harpe City Council met in regular session Monday evening, June 23rd and was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Mayor Kenny Brown.
A motion was made and passed to give the city employees a 3% raise effective July 15.
A concerned resident approached the council with a concern about loose dogs in town.
After witnessing a problem twice within a week, it was felt the council needed to be aware of the problem before an accident occurs.
After the usual business with minutes and bills the city treasurer reported the annual audit has been completed, and the audit looks good.
Greg Butler, the city's auditor, will attend one of the meetings in July to go over the audit report with the council.
The Budget Appropriation Ordinance 2003-3 for the year ending April 30, 2004 was presented for approval. A motion was made to accept as presented. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Carol Stevens, city clerk
