Meet Your Neighbor

by Donna Grisham, Quill Staff

Clair Rodeffer, born in Dallas City and graduated from high school there.

She and her late husband John were married nearly 65 years. To this marriage, four children were born - John Henry, Jerry (deceased), Ann and Joe. Ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren make Clair very proud of her family.

Clair was a stay-at-home Mom, while Mr. Rodeffer taught and farmed. Twenty-seven years ago they moved into La Harpe.

Clair keeps busy painting ceramics and making her own greeting cards. Recently, due to health problems, she had to give up knitting.

She has been a member of the DE Club over 40 years, and this fall will entertain her club at her apartment at the La Harpe-Davier Health Care Center where she enjoys independent living.

A few weeks ago, Clair spent several weeks with her daughter and family in Michigan. Her son-in-law, who is a pilot, flew here to take Clair back home with him. Mrs. Rodeffer is a delightful lady to visit with.
