Yes, the village needs volunteers to finish the renovations at the Stronghurst park, but at Monday nights board meeting they were requesting more than physical help.
Board members are asking help from all the community to watch the park for the vandalism that is occurring.
Wastebasket holders have been broken off and damage to the wiring system has been done recently, according to Bob Carmean.
The members agreed to let The Quill know when damage occurs so it may be published, keeping the community aware of what is happening.
If you see anything you are asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 1-888-867-1101 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-867-6202.
The renovation of the park is coming along quite well. The sidewalks are poured and four 12ft lights will be arriving for installation this week. The new benches will arrive around June 11th.
The board voted to proceed with providing angle parking which needs to be done before July.
A fire truck is used to water the flowers that was planted by the Southern 7th grade class.
More news from Monday night's meeting will be printed next week.
