LaHarpe Junior High held its second Awards Program this year to honor students for end-of-year activities.
The following awards and names of students who received them are as follows:
Volleyball Awards were presented by coaches Cindy Pollock and Denise Brown.
Participation certificates or letters were given to: Megan Harkey Hannah Fox, Morgan Pollock, Jessica Boyle, Erica Eddington, Mariah Myers, Paige Carpenter, Kourtni Reed, Ciji Bundy, and Alicia McConnell.

Music awards were presented by Jason Bronke and Sondra Mosley, instrumental and vocal teachers at LaHarpe.

The Director's Award for Chorus was presented to Miranda Geissler and the Director's Award for Band was received by Kirsten Johnson.
The Band Member of the Year Award was received by Seth Sparrow.

Outstanding Science Fair Awards were received by:
6th grade- Jessica Boyle, who investigated the effect of temperature on pressure; Megan Harkey, who investigated the effect of different chemicals on the corrosion of pennies; Alex Irish, who investigated the force needed to launch a projectile from a cannon, and Shane Painter, who investigated the force needed to launch a rocket.
7th grade students receiving Outstanding Awards were: Dillon McKeown, who investigated the effect of weight on momentum; Mackenzie Ourth, who investigated the effect of bacteria on the corrosion of nails; Jennifer Siegworth, who investigated the effect of different chemicals on plant growth and Alyssa Swanson, who investigated the effect of colored light on plant growth.
Eighth grade students receiving Outstanding Awards were: Julie Anderson and Willo Shutwell, who investigated the effect of artificial light on plant growth; Derrick Daudelin and Tyler Sharpe, who investigated different architectural designs on bridge strength and Kirsten Johnson and Claire McKee, who investigated the effect of being watched on human behavior.

The President's Academic Challenge Awards were presented by Charlotte Davis to students who had met the criteria for having a cumulative 3 year grade point average of 3.5 out of 4.0 in junior high school.
