La Harpe City Council Discusses Vandalism

All members were present July 28 and heard from the La Harpe City police of various problems and minor vandalism that have occurred in the city.

Problems arise during the parking of cars by various youth while they visit during the evening hours.

It was requested by the owners of the properties, that those who congregate keep the trash picked up and disposed of properly.

The parking will be banned temporarily until courtesy has been shown by cleaning up their own trash.

Dan Gillett was present on behalf of the La Harpe Historical Society to discuss the repair work being done to the cemetery graves and stones by the historical society and city.

It is felt that the quantity of time spent and the amount of work done wasn't what it had been in the past.

Mayor Brown gave an update on the car show being held this weekend, Saturday, August 2nd. The response has been very good and continues to successfully grow each year.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
