Meet Your Teenage Neighbor, Brian Ward, age 17 from Oquawka.

Brian was outside the doors of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Stronghurst after attending the final meeting of the ACS Relay For Life as a Team Leader for Union High School.

He has 14 members on his team and has worked hard to chair a group from his school where he will be a senior.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among High School Students, National Society of High School Scholars, President of the FCCLA program which focuses on community service projects for families, bringing families into the school.

Brian also manages to work a part time job at Hy Vee in Burlington, Iowa. He enjoys staying busy, with no limitation on what it is. He has enjoyed youth group at Faith Bible church, likes the small communities and likes people who know you. He says Henderson County is a good place to live. He has one brother, Kevin who is 15. They live with their parents, Jeff and Kim Ward.

He says he will seek an education degree at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.

He hopes many will come support the Relay for Life this weekend. His team will be busy setting up a tent for their campsite. Stop by and say "Hi" to your very active neighbor, Brian.
