Village of Lomax Approve Raises
The President-ProTem Jack Todd and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lomax met in regular session Tuesday, June 3, 2003 and approved a raise for council members during the session.
VanNiewaal moved to approve Ordinance 2003-1 raising the salaries of the members of the Village Board per meeting effective in May 2007 as follows: Board Member=$60; Mayor=$100; Clerk/Treas.= $225. Kienlen seconded the motion and a roll call vote showed all ayes.
Present at the 7:00 p.m. meeting were: Leslie Roberts, James Rosenboom, Jack Todd, Ron VanNiewaal, Rick Kienlen, Rebecca Moyers, and Kim Peters.
After the minutes, the treasurer's report and the bills were approved, general business included:
- a report from Todd about a meeting in Gladstone re: mosquito control measures and stated that he would try to attend.
- Moyers and Peters volunteered to help collect water samples for the grant projects when necessary.
- Street sign progress: The specs for signs and installation were discussed. The Board decided to go with Signs & Times for 12 ft. 17 gauge posts and accessories for their bid of $3,605.70.
VanNiewaal moved to accept the bid seconded by Peters; all approved. Attorney will draw up a contract if they require payment in full or the Village will pay 50% upon accepting the bid and the remainder upon completion of the job.
- Keinlen made the motion to hire Quincy Electric and Sign Company to install the street signs for a price of up to $2,500; seconded by Peters; roll call vote all ayes.
- Todd reported that he had not had the chance to contact Henderson County about working on street culverts and about digging out the drainage ditch but that he would contact them this month.
- Discussed the new flag brackets but no action was taken.
- Todd reported on the building addition and plans were discussed. Committee was to get together and finalize details for bid specs.
