The Henderson County Fair Queen and Little Miss Pageant is this Sunday, July 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern High School gymnasium. Queen contestants are all pictured except Kasey Cavanaugh.

Elizabeth lives in Biggsville with her parents, Todd and Charlotte Ackermann and her sister, Stephanie. She will be a sophomore at Union in the fall. She has one dog and one fish. Elizabeth is involved in a lot of activities both inside and outside of school. She is in student council, volleyball, track, solo and ensemble contest, speech team, AFS, and newspaper club. She also volunteers at the Monmouth hospital, plays the clarinet in band, and attended numerous honor bands throughout the school year. Elizabeth has been active in Girl Scouts for almost 11 years now and is currently earning the Gold Award (the highest award in girl scouting) and her Religion Pin. She is ranked as a Senior Girl Scout. Last year, she earned her Silver Award. Elizabeth attends Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth and is in the youth group through the church as well. When she graduates, she plans to attend college and become a dentist. |

Rachael Bundy is the daughter of Mr. Michael Bundy and Mrs. Sheryl and Mr. Doug Arends. She has a younger brother Seth. Rachael will be a senior this fall at Southern High School and participates in basketball, cheerleading, and track. She was co-captain in basketball, captain of the girls track team and will be captain of the cheerleading squad this fall. Rachael also participates in Spanish Club, Ecology Club, SAE and she is the Southern FFA Chapter Reporter for her second year. The past three years, she has coached the sixth grade girls basketball team. Rachael plans on pursuing a career in law after graduating. Rachael enjoys cooking, shopping, and reading in her spare time. |

Kasey Cavanaugh
Kasey is the daughter of Raymond and Katherine Cavanaugh and has four siblings: Shane, Riley, Colin, and Eric. She lives in Gladstone. Kasey is 16 and attends Union High School. At school, she participates in extra curricular activities such as volleyball and dance squad for one year. She is an honor roll student. Her favorite quote is a quote from a very special person, Aaliyah, and she quotes, "You are truly more than a woman...more than a dream...more then a legend...that will live forever!" "I think this pageant would be an opportunity to meet and make new friends and to help me improve my courage on appearing before an audience."

Kristin is the daughter of Vince and Melinda Whiteman and has a sister named Kayla. She is involved in Student Council, AFS, Spanish Club, Math Club, WYSE Team, ICTM Math Club, band, and was recently inducted into the Union Chapter of the National Honor Society. Kristen is a football and basketball cheerleader, and is also a member of the track team. Outside of school, she is involved in the Ecumenical singers of Monmouth, a member of the 4-H Trailriders, and is a youth deacon for the Biggsville Presbyterian Church. Kristin has also taken piano lessons since first grade and has a part time job at Cole's Photography. In her free time, she enjoy playing music with her family, going to church activities, and riding horses, just to name a few. After high school, Kristin plans to further her education at a four-year school and major in Architecture, graphic design, or business administration and minor in music. |

Starr is a senior at Southern High School and is the daughter of Ms. Tanya Robinson and Mr. Ora Robinson. She is involved in numerous school clubs and activities. She is the President of her class and also a member of the National Honor Society, WYSE Club, Scholastic Bowl, S Club, SAE, Spanish Club, and Drama. Starr held the position of Secretary and Treasurer three year in a row for the Ecology Club. She has played the roles of "Patti Simcox" and "Teen Angel" during the school's production of Grease and "Helen" in Bye Bye Birdie. Starr is also a very active member of the Ecumenical Choir in Monmouth. She also sings for community functions like the Relay for Life. In her free time, she enjoys singing and collecting Dreamsicles. She also works as a server at Perkins in Burlington, IA. After graduation, she plans on attending SCC for two years and then transferring to a 4-year school with a double major in Music and Child Therapy with a minor in Child Psychology. |

Ciara is a sophomore at Southern High School and is the daughter of Ms. Tanya Robinson and Mr. Ora Robinson. She, along with her Mom. her sister, Starr, and her twin sister, Symone, are currently moving to a place in Carman. Her Dad lives in the country a couple miles outside of town. Ciara is active in Basketball, Scholastic Bowl, Student Council, Student Active in Education, Track, Summer Softball, School Softball, the Rebel Pom Squad, and many other clubs. Ciara was in the spring musical called Bye Bye Birdie and is now also in the Ecumenical Choir. Her life right now revolves around grades, sports, music and friends. In the future, however, she is hoping to find her place in the United States Air Force. She hasn't decided exactly where she is going yet, but Ciara has a couple of years to make a decision like that. |

Brandie Lindo lives in Biggsville with her grandparents. She is a sophomore at Union High School Brandie is currently involved in basketball and volleyball. She is involved in band, art club, student council, and track. Brandie's parents are Brad Lindo and Lissa Lindo. She has three brothers and a new baby sister. Right now, Brandie's plans are still unknown. |
