On Friday, June 27, Sheryl Fox, a grant administrator for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, visited the Stronghurst Park improvement project to check on its progress.
Tony Griepentrog accompanied her and reported that she was very impressed with everything she saw. She took pictures and prepared a report on the progress.
As soon as the park committee finishes some accounting forms and submits them to the DNR (by August 1st), the village will receive financial reimbursement sometime before September 1st.
The next goal for the project will be more fund-raising to complete the current plans.
