The August 11th meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. and the first reading of the garbage ordinance amendment was read. The amendment would go into effect on September 1. A motion was made to accept the amendment and it was approved.
Also, the first reading of the proposed sewer and water rate ordinance amendment was read. This amendment would take effect on October 1.
Eric Moe of McClure Engineering was present to address the council about water main improvements to the south side of town to improve water flows. Moe presented the council with an estimate of the costs for each project.
This improvement project would complete the 1996 report. He recommended applying for a grant with CDAP for use toward the costs.
The chipping and rocking of the streets are complete and went well.
Mayor Brown stated that the annual Fred Gibb Memorial Car Show went well August 2nd and continues to grow more successful each year.
After a correction was noted for the July 14 minutes to change the amount of the fee that is being billed to the city for holding a water plant permit to $1,500, the motion was made to accept the July minutes. Motion carried.
The Treasurer's Report and Order To pay all bills was approved.
