Mayor Lila Gittings called the August 13th meeting to order with commissioners Phillip Bowman, Harold Northup, Jr., and Esther Newberry present.
Chris Classen reported on water samples for lead content.
Ruth Higgins appeared regarding having a beer tent within a fenced in area.
A motion was made by Newberry, seconded by Bowman to close the street and allow a beer tent to be set up. This will be under the liquor license of Ruthie's Place. Bowman, Newberry, Northup, and Gittings-Aye.
Rod Clark read the ordinance on Loitering (Ordinance #549 ). All voted to approve it.
Rod Clark read Ordinance #550 which changes Ordinance #310 allowing angle parking in 100 block of East Fourth Street. All voted to approve Ordinance #550.
Discussed Ordinance #551 for the levy and assessment of taxes for the City of Dallas City for fiscal year May 1, 2003 ending April 30, 2004. All voted to approve it.
All approved a motion made by Newberry and seconded by Bowman to allow Doris Nelson to pay $100.00 on a delinquent water bill at the old Walkers Fish Market. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
