Union Board

The Board of Education of Union Community Unit School District #115 met at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, in the Library, at Biggsville. Members present were Allaman, Bigger, Kage, Miller, Parsons, Sams and Weber.

The minutes of the July 2, 2003 meeting were added to item 4.a. Under item 7. - Tort Fund was added.

It was reported to the Board by the Superintendent that the Sports Boosters have continued to meet over the summer. They have several fund raisers planned for the fall.

Karen Rima, Union High School Principal reported on the several matters relating to Union High School including the following:

• Have met with several students.
• Have met with several staff members.
• Have met with a parent regarding her children not having enough credits to graduate next spring.
• Have dealt with a student discipline issue.

Tony Ryan, Union Elementary Principal reported to the Board that all his reports will be discussed during Closed Session.

The Board approved the following by consent:

• The minutes of the June 17, July 2, and July 21, 2003 meetings.
• The revised board calendar.
• The financial reports.
