Thunder Varsity Baseball

Due to rain and the Easter holiday, the La Harpe-Northwestern varsity baseball team saw action only once this past week, hosting a conference doubleheader on Monday, April 14, against North Fulton. In game one, the Thunder fell behind early and came back late, but their rally fell just short with L-N dropping a 13-12 decision. Seven Thunder batters hit safely in the contest, led by Brittian Daudelin's 3-4 performance. Josh Phillips, Dustin Moore, A.J. Huston, Christopher Link, Chase DeCounter and Stephen Butterfield also had one hit each. Huston and Phillips each hit 3-run home runs. Daudelin and Link each had 2 RBI's as well.

In game two, the Thunder rode timely hitting and a good combined pitching performance from Matt Zaehringer and Thomas Todd to take a 7-5 win. Matt Swanson had the leading performance offensively, going 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI's. Bryant Fernetti added 2 hits for L-N. Also collecting hits were Michael Yeast, Josh Phillips, Stephen Butterfield and Brittian Daudelin. Collecting one RBI each were Yeast, Butterfield, Dustin Moore and Christopher Link.
