Betty Latherow moved to La Harpe in 1983 with her late husband Senator Cliff Latherow. She is a La Harpe High School graduate. She and Cliff farmed in Fountain Green where they lived for many years and raised three children there, Linda, Don and Jerry. Betty was a busy lady during Cliff's years as a State Senator. They attended the Inaugural Ball when Ronald Regan was sworn in as President of the United States. What a privilege that was. She and Cliff had the honor of going to many social events during his terms in office. She had enjoyed attending the National Republican Conventions in Kansas City and Detroit. Betty keeps very busy. She likes spending time out at the farm, walks every day, and works in her yard. Betty is an avid sports fan. She was there in the crowd when her grandchildren participated in sports or any thing they were involved with at school. She still attends a lot of the activities at school. Betty belongs to three clubs, likes to play Bridge and Pitch. She is active in the lives of her grandchildren and deeply misses her grandson, Dannen. |
