Dallas City Council Gives Donation, Hires Mowing

-Minutes of Steven Vorhies, Dallas City Clerk

The Dallas City Council held its regular meeting last Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Lila Gittings called the meeting to order with the following Commissioners present: Harold Northup, Jr., Esther Newberry and John Pieper. Nick Huston was absent. Others attending the meeting were Wayne Lebeck, Chris Classen, and Jerry Duffy.

After regular business, Wayne Lebeck appeared on behalf of the Dallas City Lions Club. He requested permission to use the 4-way stop on April 5, 2003, for Diabetes Awareness Month to pass out flyers and sugar-free candy.

The council had no objection to this as long as there was no one under the age of 18 standing in the street.

Chris Classen discussed getting a bid for spraying around the sewer plant. He also discussed that there was a blockage in the City sewer line on East Fifth Street. It appears that this problem has been taken care of temporarily and that it appears that there may be a crack in the sewer line.

A motion was made by Northup, seconded by Pieper to enter Executive Session at 7:55 p.m. Northup, Newberry, Pieper, and Gittings - Aye. Huston- Absent. (The purpose for this executive session was not disclosed in the minutes.)
