La Harpe FFA Chapter News

Recently, the La Harpe FFA Chapter awarded freshmen members their Greenhand FFA degrees and welcomed sixteen eighth grade members. The Greenhand FFA degree is the second of five degrees that FFA members can earn. This degree signifies that these members have been involved in Agriculture Education, FFA, and started a Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. These members are now eligible to work towards their Chapter, then State, and maybe even American degrees.

October 30th through November 2nd twelve members from the LaHarpe FFA Chapter attended the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. These members had the opportunity to hear motivational speakers, attend sessions, go on educational tours, and participate in some fun activities as well. The members got to tour the Ford Production Plant as well as the Louisville Slugger bat museum and factory. Some of the fun activities included talent acts at each session, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, the Louisville Mall, and river boat cruise with a dance.
