The November 6th regular Biggville Village Board meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance by President Janet Monville presiding and the following present: Trustees- Marilyn Evans, Daryl Forbes, and Bob Onion; Treasurer - Gloria Jones; Clerk - Frank Jones. Absent - Mark Blindt, Tony Patlan, and Mike West. Visitors - Lou Boyer, Dale Allenbaugh, Glen Olson, Kathie Curtiss, Ed and Penny Mohnike, Ben Mohnike, Jessi Koltzenburg of Twin Builders, and Eric Moe of McClure Engineering.
After the usual business, and bills ordered paid, Eric Moe of McClure Engineering presented several sewer bills. Marilyn Evans moved the Village pay the final bill to Twin Builders Construction amounting to $16,883.36, seconded by Daryl Forbes. All present voted yes.
Marilyn Evan moved the remaining sewer bills be paid as presented and all approved.
Jessi Koltzenburg of Twin Builders was present to see if the final bill would be paid. President Monville reported that she and Wendell Parsons of School District Unit 115 discussed the restroom project at the ball park. They discussed the restrooms being located on the north side. Bob Onion will schedule a meeting with Joe Bigger.
Marilyn Evans reported there were fewer people at the Halloween Wiener Roast due to the weather.
President Monville passed out the revised Zoning Ordnance for the members to review before the next meeting.
President Monville reported that MJH of Aledo surveyed the Mohnike property and the cost should not exceed $600.00.
Ben Mohnike said that he would not fill the basement after the house was removed.
Glen Olson reminded the Board that by purchasing this property, there would be two less water and sewer customers.
He also stated, he will need an easement to his property that he purchased from Mohnike.
Bob Onion moved the Village purchase the Ben Mohnike property for $5,000, less half of the surveying cost.
The Village will pay $1,000 for the option to buy immediately, the balance of half of the purchase price upon signing the contract and the remaining balance upon completion of Mohnike clearing the property which must be completed in three months from the purchase date, seconded by Marilyn Evans. All approved.
Lou Boyer reported the easements have been signed and the Drain Pipe Project is ready to start.
Jeff Lant showed the Board one of the bad water valves that would not open. Lant stated that all the valves should probably be replaced.
He requested the three valves at the water tower be replaced immediately and all members approved.
Lant will make arrangements to have the valves replaced and the fire hydrant installed near the Dick Reid property.
Lant requested permission to replace the equipment and tools that were stolen from the Maintenance shed saying he needed the chain saw immediately. It was approved.
Marilyn Evans said three Christmas lights on Main Street need wired. Lant will make arrangements to have the lights wired.
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, December 4, 2002, 7 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Building.
