Southern High School News-Elmwood Cross Country Sectional Meet

Theresa Brokaw of Southern High School placed 3rd at the IHSA Elmwood Sectional held at Maple Lane Country Club Saturday. Her time was a very competitive 18:48 over the rolling three mile course. Pam Wolf of Monmouth-Roseville won the race in 17:59 and Andrea Edgar of Quincy Notre-Dame, who placed third in the state last year, came in second in 18:39. Laura Brokaw of Yorkwood High School ran a good race herself. Theresa's placing in the top seven individuals qualifies her for the IHSA State Cross-country meet held Saturday, November 9th, at Detweiller Park in Peoria. The course sits along the west side of route 29 on the northeast part of town, with the girls race set to start at 9:00 a.m.
