On Saturday, May 4, 2002, Southern traveled to Nauvoo for an extra game only to come out tagged with a 6-1 loss.

Southern only scored once in the top of the seventh when Mike Lenahan crossed the plate.

Rebels vs. Colchester

In Double-header

On Wednesday, May 8, 2002 the Rebels traveled to Colchester for a doubleheader.

Under a gray, cloudy sky on this day, the Rebels offense came alive, scoring a total of 19 runs on the day.

In the first game, the Rebels jumped out in front scoring 5 runs in the first with Matt McIntire, Joshua Ragar, Nick Morris, Christopher Wisslead, and Ryan Keever crossing home plate.

The highlight of the inning was a gargantuan blast by Christopher Wisslead that cleared the left-centerfield fence by plenty giving Wisslead six homeruns on the season.

In the second inning, Joshua Ragar led off with his second homerun of the season over the left-centerfield fence.

Colchester2nd Game

In the second game, the Rebels prevailed 12-3 in a shortened game due to lightning.

The Rebels jumped out early again scoring 5 runs in the first when Matt McIntire, Joshua Ragar, Nick Morris, Nathan Corzatt, and Ryan Keever crossed the plate.

In the top of the second the Rebels added four more runs to their total when Ragar, Morris, Corzatt, and Keever all scored.

In the top of the third inning, the Rebels scored three more times when McIntire led off the inning with his fourth homerun of the season.

Ragar and Morris then scored.

The game was called in the top of the fourth due to lightning with a final score of 12-3 in favor of the Rebels.

Southern vs. La Harpe

On Thursday, May 9, 2002 the Rebels traveled to LaHarpe for a rematch only to be turned away again with the loss.

The Rebels scored first when Matt McIntire and Joshua Ragar crossed the plate on a double of the fence by Christopher Wisslead.

LaHarpe came back in their half of the inning with three runs of their own to take the lead. LaHarpe added another run in the second for a 4-2 lead.

The Rebels pushed across another run in the bottom of the fourth when Nathan Corzatt doubled and was driven in on a double by Adam Burrell.

Unfortunately the Rebels could not muster any more runs against the Thunder. LaHarpe added one run in the fourth, three in the fifth, and one more in the sixth for a final score of 9-3.
