Mothers Day Tea Enjoyed At Oak Lane

The first ever Mother-Daughter Tea in the new dining room of Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab was held Tuesday, May 21, 200.

The large crowd included some sons who filled in for absent daughters.

Administrator Richard Clifton welcomed everyone and read several tributes to Mothers.

Three students of Joanne Hilligoss provided musical entertainment. Sara Brokaw played several piano solos, Jacqueline and Samantha Fisher sang vocal duets, and each sang vocal solos.

Dessa Rodeffer read a tribute to Mothers and Susan Towns read a poem about mothers in the kitchen.

While delicious refreshments were being served, Dessa asked everyone to take the stroll "way back in time before Internet and Nintendo" as she read a list of things from the good ole days and asked them to see if they could Remember...... like "hide and go seek at dusk", sittin' on the porch, "kick the can," white gloves, "the smell of paste", paper chains at Christmas, only 2 types of sneakers for girls (Keds and PF Flyer), when a quarter was a decent allowance, and a long list of others.

Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and the beautiful table settings by Barb Klossing and wonderful service of the Oak Lane staff.Mothers Day Tea Enjoyed At Oak Lane
