Dallas City Council Meeting

The Dallas City Council held its regular meeting on March 13, 2002 at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Lila Gittings called the meeting to order with the following Commissioners present: Nick Huston, Harold Northup, Jr., Esther Newberry, and John Pieper.

Others attending the meeting were Ron Kesterke, Leysa Logan, Sue Harms, Chris Classen, and Rod Clark.

The February 27 minutes were accepted.

Ron Kesterke discussed a burn permit that the fire department has received to burn a house on the Ed Symmonds property. The council has no objection to this being done. It will be done within one year.

Leysa Logan appeared representing the Nauvoo-Colusa High School After-Prom Committee asking for a donation.

A motion was made by Northup, seconded by Huston to donate $300.00 to the After-Prom Committee. Huston, Northup, Newberry, Pieper, and Gittings - Aye.

Sue Harms appeared regarding the snow removal that has been done this year.

Chris Classen discussed a water main break that Rural Water incurred that has recently affected the water service at the grade school. Also discussed street capping some old water lines that are no longer being used.

Nick Huston discussed a letter he received from the Department of Justice regarding COPS Fast Grant.

Esther Newberry discussed water service at a house that was recently built.

A motion was made by Pieper seconded by Huston to pay bills. Huston, Northup, Newberry, Pieper, and Gittings - Aye.

A motion was made by Newberry, seconded by Northup to adjourn the meeting. Huston, Northup, Newberry, Pieper, and Gittings - Aye.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
