A graduate of Stronghurst High School in 1936. She is now retired and still living in Stronghurst.
She has cousins Connie Fry of Mediapolis, Iowa, and Kenneth and Zoe Peterson of Media, Illinois.
Martha is a "very faithful member" of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Stronghurst.
She enjoys baking sugar cookies for friends and neighbors, letter writing and just helping people.
